When the modern version of roller derby evolved out of Austin in the early 2000s, few could have predicted what it would become. Within the last five years, roller derby has exploded, not only in the US but around the world as well. Though the US still leads the world with the most derby leagues, the sport is gaining momentum abroad. Who knows where it will be in another five years?
