Hard falls and quick stops can create a lot of wear and tear on the toes of your skates. You can increase the life of your skates by maintaining them and taping them properly. We’d like to go one step further: duct tape is the go-to for taping skates, but the aggressive adhesive can be hard on your skates, eventually wearing them down.  You should change the tape often, but in between tapes use  citrus cleaner to remove all of the leftover adhesive before putting on a new layer; it will decrease buildup and add to the life of your skates.
